Poker Promotions & Series | River Rats Poker League

River Rats Poker League reserves the rights to change and/or modify any of these Promotions without notice at any time without warning. It is the responsibility of the members to keep up to date with these Promotions.
River Rats Poker League will attempt to inform all members either through the News & Updates section or via SMS of changes to these Promotions.

Player of the Month Promotion

1. Promotion Overview

The Player of the Month promotion rewards the player who earns the most points across all River Rats Poker League events within a calendar month.

2. Promotion Period

The promotion runs from the first day of each calendar month to the last day of the same month.

3. Scoring System

Points are awarded at every official River Rats Poker League game as follows:

1st Place	20 Points
2nd Place	15 Points
3rd Place	10 Points
4th – 5th Place	7 Points
6th – 10th Place	5 Points
11th+ Place	2 Points

Points accumulate across all eligible games throughout the promotion period.

4. Eligibility Criteria

Any player who participates in River Rats Poker League games is eligible.
The player with the highest total points at the end of the promotion period is deemed the Player of the Month.

5. Prize

The winner will receive free entry into all regular River Rats Poker League nightly games for the following calendar month.
This excludes popup events and special ticketed events.
The total approximate prize value is $800 AUD.

6. Tiebreaker

In the event two or more players finish the month with equal points at the top of the leaderboard, a heads-up game will be played between the tied players to determine the winner.
The prize cannot be claimed until the tiebreaker is resolved.

7. General Conditions

The prize is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
Points and standings are at the sole discretion of River Rats Poker League, and all decisions are final.
River Rats Poker League reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the promotion at any time without prior notice.

Best Hand

Participation in this game implies acceptance of all rules and conditions.

Entry:

Each player is asked if they wish to enter the Best Hand promotion before the commencement of their first hand.
Entry into Best Hand is OPTIONAL.
The entry fee for Best Hand is typically $2, but may be $5 for larger games.
The Tournament Director will record the names of those who have entered the Best Hand promotion.

Rules:

The hand is null and void if the result was determined by a Rabbit Hunt.
When a player wins a significant hand, they may alert the Tournament Director of their hand.
The hand must be shown (tabled) so that all players at the table can clearly see the contents of the hand.
The hand does not need to go to a showdown to be eligible.
The player with the best hand at the break will win the kitty.

Special Circumstances:

In the event of a split pot for the best hand (e.g., the board runs 4-4-4-4-A), all players involved in that hand will split the Best Hand pot.

SMS Codeword

From time to time, River Rats Poker League sends out Reminder SMS Messages to alert poker players of, but not limited to, upcoming events. These SMS may include relevant news and updates. These SMS Messages may include a CODEWORD to be replied to, to receive extra chips at the advertised Poker event. Additionally, poker players may be able to respond via Facebook either in the comments section of the post or via inbox.

Eligibility:

Only recipients of the SMS or followers of the official River Rats Poker League Facebook page who are registered players of River Rats Poker League are eligible to participate.
Players must be present at the advertised event to claim their extra chips.

Timing and Validity:

The CODEWORD must be replied to within 24 hours of receiving the SMS or the Facebook post being made.
The extra chips can only be claimed at the event specified in the SMS or Facebook post on the date and time mentioned. Claims outside this timeframe will not be honored.

Verification and Limitations:

Players may be required to show the SMS or Facebook response at the event to verify their eligibility.
Each player can only claim the extra chips once per promotion. Multiple claims or attempts to claim by the same player will not be accepted.

Non-Transferability:

The extra chips are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other form of compensation.
The promotion is valid only for the player who received the SMS or responded on Facebook and cannot be transferred to another player.

Misuse and Abuse:

Any form of misuse, abuse, or fraudulent activity related to the promotion will result in disqualification from the promotion and potential disciplinary action by River Rats Poker League.
River Rats Poker League reserves the right to revoke the promotion if misuse is suspected.

Changes and Cancellations:

River Rats Poker League reserves the right to modify or cancel the promotion at any time without prior notice.
In the event of cancellation, players will not be entitled to any compensation or replacement.

Acceptance of Terms:

By responding with the CODEWORD via SMS or Facebook, players agree to these terms and conditions.
Participation in the promotion implies acceptance of all terms and conditions set forth by River Rats Poker League.

Birthday Poker Pass

1. Eligibility:

This promotion is open to all registered players of River Rats Poker League.
Players must present a valid ID to verify their birth date.

2. Promotion Details:

On their birthday, eligible players receive free entry and addons into any nightly poker game.
If the player’s birthday falls on a big game day (where the total buy-in is greater than $30), the player will receive free entry (buy-in only). Add-ons, rebuys, or other extras are not included on big game days.
The free game is only valid on the player’s actual birthday.
If a player is unable to attend on their birthday, the offer is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed on another day.
Promotion applies to all official River Rats Poker League games, subject to game classification (nightly or big game).

3. Participation:

The promotion grants the player entry as a free player into the game.
No financial investment will be added to the pot for the player’s entry.
Players must inform the Tournament Director of their birthday promotion claim before the commencement of the game.

4. Non-Transferability:

The free entry is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other form of compensation.
The promotion is valid only for the individual whose birthday it is.

5. General Conditions:

River Rats Poker League reserves the right to modify or cancel the promotion at any time without prior notice.
Participation in the promotion implies acceptance of all terms and conditions set forth by River Rats Poker League.
Any form of misuse, abuse, or fraudulent activity related to the promotion will result in disqualification and potential disciplinary action.
